Tried something NEW

I think it may become an obsession . lol

This is what is called” Steam Punk” jewelry.( my interpretation.)

Prowl Flea Markets,Garage Sales,Yard Sales,Junk stores etc. for old watches and clocks.

Ask your friends if the have some in a junk drawer they would like to donate.

Now ,take them home and dismantle for parts.Takes some time and patience.

Chose a base. Mine here is the base plate from an old travel clock I found in a drawer at home.

Small tins can be used as bases. Yeh! Now you have an inside to alter too!

I have used BIG washers from the hardware store as bases.

Use the parts you should now have, and create.

The pieces can be built up on top of each other to create perspective and depth. To adhere the parts,I use E6000 glue. I squeeze out a glob onto scrap paper and use a wooden toothpick to apply. Take your time so as to prevent glue overload.

Let dry over night just to be sure.

To  make a hanger for the pendant, glue an eye screw or codder pin to the back.

Make sure your chain will fit prior to attaching your hanger.

Some of the most fun I’ve had lately.

Your turn.

That is so cool, Dee. I spend so much of my life trying to put or keep things together, maybe I need to take some things apart! I just was in Barnes and Noble today and picked up a book called Steampunk Jewelry – and here you are already making it! You are at the head of the class – as usual.
