Gingersnap 3D Challenge

This started out as a plain white canvas 5×5 inches.

Using Ranger Distress Inks I stamped several images to represent “TIME”. The bird is a Tim Holtz design.

I then roughly accented the outer edges with the same inks.

The main image consists of Tim Holtz cogs, gears and hour hands.

I have also accumulated a good supply or antique and vintage watch parts.Flea markets ,junk shops and antique stores are great sources for watch parts..Sometimes I have to beg, barter and harass pleasantly to get what I am after.

I use washers and bolts of diffrent sizes to create little platforms to hold the watch parts.

As extra emellishment , I use tiny jewels and vintage charms to add “bling” and interest. Usually I use  E6000 glue and a toothpick to adher the parts to the background.

This is known as “Steampunk:” art.

So much fun to do.

WOWSER am “in love”, haven’t tried this steam punk, but when I do, if it turns out half as good as this I’ll be extremely pleased.
