Faux postage is creating look alike postage stamps. They look like stamps but can’t be used as stamps.

To create these stamps, you will need a grid from the internet.Cut out white areas using a craft knife with a nice new blade and a ruler.

Place cardstock on your work space.

Place grid on top of card stock.Tape down to discourage movement of grid.

First create the background . I used chalk and a Q tip.

Spray with hair spray or other fixative to prevent the chalks from smudging.

Stamp squares to resemble each other as closely as possible.

It is a good idea to have sticky notes handy so you are able to work on one square at a time.

To make your faux postage appear more authentic,  use cancellation stamps in a paler colour.

If you look carefully you can see my cancellation stamps in red.

If you wish ,using the grid ,outline each”stampp” in the colour of your choice. Use the thinnest line possible.

Now,remove the grid and cut out each stamp using scissors with a “postal” edge.

Arrange stamps to create a card.

It is lots of fun.
